These local, pasture-raised lamb come from an Amish farm in Southeast Minnesota that doesn’t use antibiotics or pesticides, and uses only natural fertilizers. These Katahdin Hair Sheep spend most of their time on hilly slopes, helping to restore eroded former cropland, and have access to a hay-filled barn for shelter during the winter. For more information about the farmers raising the lamb, see here.
A whole lamb ($490) is approximately 40 pounds of meat, including leg of lamb, ribs, chops, stew meat and ground lamb. A half lamb ($250) is approximately 20-25 pounds of meat. The meat is cut into dinner-sized portions, shrink-wrapped, and frozen.
