I’ve spent my career working to protect Minnesota’s environment, and have come to know many farmers who are treating their land and our waters and wildlife right. For the past 30 years, I’ve been investing in these farmers by buying meat and other foods they produce for my family and a growing group of friends. We’ve learned that this meat isn’t just more environmentally friendly and ethical than what is produced in feedlot operations – it’s also much tastier.

Through the course of a year, we buy pork, lamb, chicken, beef, and goat (“chevon,” for those in the know) directly from these farmers. The meat is processed by small-scale local butchers, packaged into family-dinner-sized portions, and frozen. We also buy surplus organic vegetables in season from Amish growers, along with homemade bread, pie, cakes, butter, pickles, and jam. Free-range eggs from are often available.
All foods must be picked up from my home in St. Paul.
Buying directly from farmers, and hearing their stories, has taught me – and our buyers’ network – so much about farm life and the ways that these farmers make the world a better place. If you’d like to support family farms, invest in your values, and buy tasty, healthy meat at a fair price, you’ve found the right place at Arnosti Farm Connections.
